INSPIRATION SERIES: Rosie Moreton

So Rosie, take us through your average morning routine… Well actually, I started writing this interview when I was in Asia, and now I’m in Austria, so my morning routine has transformed, but ultimately some things are the same anywhere. Here I am waking up at about 7am, making tea or hot water with apple cider vinegar to wake up my digestion, teaching yoga in the morning for one hour, meditating for 10-20 minutes, then I make myself breakfast. I love some kind of vegetable, eggs and some avocado or olive oil at the moment, but today I had turmeric […]

Whole & Happy Challenge

NEW YEARS REVOLUTION So, yes, it’s that time, we’re going to talk about New Year’s intentions, I know I know, you’ve heard enough of them by now that you’re ready to go rogue and basically do the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Eat more sugar! Stay up later! Cancel your yoga membership! Drink less water, more coffee! Write in your Ungrateful Journal daily! But we’re proposing something a little different this year. Rather than tying yourself to a resolution that you pulled out of thin air after three Christmas mimosas, that will, inevitably, be long forgotten by mid-February…. or even worse, one […]

INSPIRATION SERIES: Natasha Kochan

Up next in our Inspiration Series we are on the other side of the desk, answering our own questions ourselves, so that you guys can get to know us better, and also so that we can share some of our sources of inspiration with you. First up is our little Canadian ray of sunshine Natasha… So, Natasha! Take us through your average morning routine. For me, the best part of every new day is that it is welcomed without an alarm! I spend the first hours of my morning practicing yoga in silence (preferably in a beautiful space in nature, […]

INSPIRATION SERIES: Justine, Creative Biz Formula

This week we interviewed Justine Davis from Creative Biz Formula, one powerhouse of a woman who we have a lot of gratitude towards for guiding us to clarity and focus with Whole & Happy Retreat. She is a source of inspiration for us to get up early and seize the day, to put Beyonce’s “I Was Here” in our ears and move in the direction of our dreams. Plus she’s a kick-ass Muay Thai fighter, an absolute babe, and you know you’re onto a good thing when Justine gets “full-body goosebumps”. She’s launching an Online Academy for Creative Biz Formula […]

INSPIRATION SERIES: Ute, Fräulein Franz

Ute was a guest on a past Whole & Happy Retreat in Thailand, and has been inspiring us ever since with her words and actions. Ute writes an inspirational blog (see the link below) called “Fräulein Franz”, all about Travel, Soul and Food – the best things in life, in our opinion! Most recently she has launched a “24 Days of Gratitude” program in German for the days leading up to Christmas, including a gratitude journal and daily emails keeping you inspired. There’s only a few days left but if you speak German and feel the need for some love […]

Unlikely Yogis: How We Define Balance

We’ve all heard it before. We say it all the time on our social media. But we can all throw the word around so easily, without getting to the nitty-gritty of what “balance” actually means to us. Especially in a yoga industry saturated with a tonne of beliefs around what a healthy, balanced life looks like. Let’s get real for a hot minute, shall we? For starters, a balanced life is not necessarily a beautiful thing, worthy of Instagram. We mean it when we say you do not want to see Rosie before she’s had 10 minutes of “quiet time” upon […]

INSPIRATION SERIES: Will & Lisa, Suan Sati

We reached out to a handful of people who have given us so much inspiration during the creation of Whole & Happy Retreat, and have kept us accountable in living the life that we share with others. We wanted to pick the brains of some inspirational people who live life a little outside the box, and ask them how they live a Whole & Happy lifestyle. We’ll be releasing a new interview on the blog regularly, so stay tuned.  This week we interviewed our friends Will & Lisa from Suan Sati Yoga, Meditation and Permaculture Retreat Centre in Northern Thailand, a […]

An Open Letter to the 25 Year Olds

Things this year seem a little different, as if we are slowly but surely moving along a scale of continuity, where we’ve moved on from having absolutely no fucking idea what tickles us. We know now what we like to do, but we’re starting to wonder if we can make a living doing yoga on beaches, drinking coco bongos, talking to strangers and then writing about it all. We feel we have a lot to prove. The pressure of impressing people weighs heavily, because at this age, success seems to be how many people we know, how many countries […]
